I have a couple friends that all made one over the years... they never made a second. (Standard mineral oil not chilled)

oh, I know it's an extremely labor intensive task and likely not cheap either, but warez is a madman, so it might fit the bill! LoL!

Der8auer delidded one and using liquid metal found temps to drop 20 degrees at stock. that gave him the headroom to move to a 6ghz OC on all eight P-Core and with a custom waterblock he's been developing with Thermal Grizzly, was able to run it full load at 95C, so the CPU didn't throttle itself. they said power consumption was only 400w-ish, but that's probably a typo or proper context wasn't given to understand where that figure came from.

I wonder if that has anything to do with the better cooling solution. as the article also commented on, as the power consumption goes up, the temps go up and in return, the power consumption goes up even further as it has to fight to stay at that performance level.

Likely true...but it is still 400w for the CPU alone. Hardly something that I would say "only" 400watts about. That is a ton of power.
