Intel releasing 7nm…nope just rebadging 10nm as 7

In a bid to have comparable numbers, intel is ditching their nm number scheme to make way for the new random number identifier.

10nm superfin is now known as intel 7.


Though I will be fair to intel and say that this change does likely put their numbering closer to their main fab rival TMSC.

After watching Der8auer's microscope study of AMD and Intel microprocessors the "nm" pitch thing is basically marketing. We are still better off evaluating CPUs on a range of metrics.
