I often download offline maps for Google Maps on iPhone.

But aside from that there are a lot of good looking things in that link for iOS 18. Cool!

Sorry, wasn't on yesterday. Yes, Google Maps on Apple or iOS on my iPhone. I've never tried with Apple Maps as I still favour Google Maps for navigation over Apple Maps, even though I'm on an iPhone now.

That does seem to focus on hiking in the link. I'd have to read it more carefully to compare to what I currently do in Google Maps. I select a square on the map, whatever size I want it seems, and then it downloads the map info for that area for offline use.

Actually, Just checked Apple Maps on iPhone and it has the option to create Offline Maps as well. So this iOS 18 thing must be different than that basic feature. Honestly I would have been surprised if I hadn't found offline maps in Apple Maps already.
