Is it ok that the CPU fan doesn't sit square on the heat sink?

I added 2x8 gigs of ram to my desktop. But the issue I have is the the ram slot closest to the the CPU cooler doesn't have enough space to squeeze the CPU fan flush on the heat sink. It sits about a quarter inch of the heat sink. I have the cooler master 212 evo rgb black edition. Will that effect temperature much?

+1 to just moving the fan to the other side

Say your no longer hitting about 5% of the fin stack your probably not even loosing 5% peak performance.

Yes it's ok, won't affect temperature much.

My previous computer had a be quiet cpu heatsink that you could move the fan easily to clear the 1st ram slot.

Ya, it doesn't make any difference from what I have seen. I have been running my NH-D15 like this for as long as I have owned it because the front fan has never cleared the ram fully, as you have seen no difference.
