Is it time to ditch x299

Think this is a clear sign to ditch Intel's x299. I have been waiting for stock for a Intel i9 10989xe forever and in email lists now this.

How can it no longer be available it never came in stock.

May be Intel just didn't bother making more? Didn't it get a very lukewarm review where it barely did better than the 9980XE? I mean I can't see those who already owns the 9900XE would bother to upgrade and those new to the market would pick it over Threadripper. I suspect Intel's fab is going to put toward something else.

Yeah I have a 7980xe I wanted to put it to use in a server and use the new 10980xe in rig till DDR 5 and PCIe gen 5 from AMD comes to market

Yeah they gave to many of these 10980xe to techtubers instead of the retail chain. I'll hang out one more AMD architecture update see what they add. Then I'll retire this cpu maybe next board will have 2 usb type c headers onboard.
