Watched the video reviews from the guys I usually reference... getting harder not to buy it but so far I have resisted!!

Decided to buy the first Kingdom Come Deliverance. I'd like to play it ahead of the sequel.

It is good, but based on the reviews they've improved pretty much every aspect over the first one. But you will get the story!

I really enjoyed it, but it's meant to be pretty grueling stock.
There's lots of QoL mods from saving anywhere to removing the 'helmet view' when wearing a helm etc. Some do make the game easier, but I found I enjoyed it more with some of the harsher aspects toned down.

At least with the original game I know I"ll be able to run it at 4k maxed out with my current hardware.
I suspect I'll have to lower the quality settings at 4k on KCD2 even with a 3090!

Actually likely not the case. KCD2 is much better optimized than the first one even after all the patching done to the first.
One of the reviewers I like to watch played it on a 2080 at I believe 1440p with high FPS on high settings.
