I got a set of 50x50x15mm fans for my Tesla card but the screws that came with are too short. I need at around 18mm in length but not sure which type of screw is correct. From my research I need 7/32" in width and about 0.7 inch in length. The closest screws I can find is #12 metal screws. Any suggestions since it's plastic to plastic mounting.

The original screws are your typical fan screws (M5x10mm or M5x12mm). If you are mounting it behind a metal fan grill, it works fine. But I'm mounting it against a 3D printed object. As you can see, the screw is not long enough and may not even bit into the 3D printed fan bracket if it's long enough. I could go get some self tapping M5x18mm on Aliexpress but have to wait a while.

More than likely you'd end up cracking the part with an aggressive screw like that. Those are pretty small holes. Do you have a tap set? Looks like about an m3 in size.

The hole measured 2.0mm to 2.5mm wide so I think you are right about using nothing bigger than M3 screw.

i have started my bulk orders from MOD DIY i seem to have odds and ends so made a nice bulk order of every size some have multiple options.

Thanks for that suggestion, I'm going to take a look at that site and see if I can find anything.

Never mind. My advice was not appropriate since I didn't read the thread clearly. lol
