discussion Looking for a usb joystick for MAME project

I'm looking to put together a desicated arcade emulator. Need a usb joystick with a few buttons.
I'm no good with a soldering iron, but on a budget. Any pointers/advice?

Can't see a temu link without registering and that's not gonna happen.

Kit's like this work, but you'd need to come up with a case. I 3D printed one, but I suppose you could just do one up in wood if you wanted to.

Maybe I'll set up a little MAME machine and use a xbox 360 controller....go from there? I don't want to dive into the deep end.

Yes, a controller would work.

Aliexpress has quite a few Mame joystick controllers sub-$50, but who knows what the quality would end up being.

Thanks for the link. Do you have any experience ordering from Aliexpress into Canada?
BTW - I've had nothing but good dealings with Temu - and they are pretty fast. Around 10 days.

I've ordered quite a few things from them and never had an issue. Only got hit with duties/taxes once, and I doubt a cheap joystick would trigger that.
