Hard to believe but I figured out how the prices work on the Macs in a dream. Weird I know.

First off.....The panels. Mac uses IPS panels in their PC's. Those are pretty pricey panels. That alone would make the price JUMP.
Secondly.....the designs of the macs do not come cheap. Take the iMac for example ( the new ones ) with the unibody frames. They may be aluminum but the carving of the frames must be a little pricey as well.

Now this is mostly about the iMacs.....still think that they need to price down the Mini's a bit ( $499 would be acceptable ) and the laptops as well ( I do not know if they use IPS on a laptop or not ).
In a dream... lolwhat :haha:

Damn you Midget!!! You got me wanting an iMac 21.5!!!!! You will BURN for this!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!
Hmmk... well if you keep an open spirit like that if you ever got one, after a week or so you will be happy to have made the change. At least in theory

No, you want the 27" That way you can use it as your PC monitor as well.

But i agree about the mini. It is too much money. Although now that they don't use Intel GPU's they aren't near as bad as before. I use to have a C2D + Intel GMA graphics Mini but even expose got choppy when I had to many windows open.

no I am not payin over $2000 just for a 27 inch monitor. No way.

21.5 is fine for the work that I am planning for it....plus I have a few spare monitors that I can use as a display extra if need be.

Meh... for the mini it's not that overpriced considering it's size, power and the fact that it's a -legit- apple computer and not just a hackintosh.

Since there's a lot of people that actually want a mac or just want to 'try' one to see if they will like it (typical 'internet' user) they are not that expensive and most of the people buying it will not mind the price if it's to escape windows' hell.

Only $200 away from the purchase price of a iMac 21.5.....hmmm......
:thumb:

I'm still keeping my eye on the Macbook Pros for when I'm way the hell out of town (Which I will be a LOT), I'm pretty sure the army doesn't want me to haul an iMac everywhere :haha: I figure I might as well get in on the notebook action since I'll be prioritizing porn traffic to some 2IC's and of course there's the always important iPhone wifi access for OC's. Man I'm gonna love my job....
