Not sure how well I did, but I guess it's a first! Any tips for improving score (w/o buying for stuff and OC'ing; which I am saving for later)

So I did it again (w/o changing anything) and got 9407 points....:blarg::thumb:




Can anyone tell me why I was getting 1fps in the CPU test>? :angry2::blarg::sad:

Even the fastest CPU's out there will get low CPU scores, don't worry. You know how hard it is for a CPU to render 3D??? VERY hard. Good score, is your system all stock speeds?
 
1FPS in the cpu test isn't that bad. Even the world record (5.6GHz QX9650's) barely get 4 or 5FPS. The change in score was likely due to background apps running, which take up valuable RAM.

The CPU test isn't actually using the CPU to render the scene. It uses the CPU for AI of the tank like things, as well as the physics which is done with the AGIEA PhysX library. Yes sir, it's @ 100% stock...

I built this rig less than a month ago....I plan to OC it sometime in the near future...But the only OC i've really ever done was with my old PC's GPU using RivaTuner....So I don't have much knowledge of what to do in the world of OC'ing.

Be prepared to be sucked into the addictive world of overclocking.:bananafunky: At least this tuning and testing doesn't get me speeding tickets.:whistle:
 
Not to mention with a little overclocking I'm sure you'd be seeing 12000?

And it may not get you speeding tickets but does it matter? Your addicted you end up spending that much at your local PC crack supplier lol.

True enough.:whistle: But i can drink and race.. with this machine.
 
I would think you should get a good bit over 12k once you start clocking. I got a smidge under 13k with my system and that was with a e6300 and a 512MB 8800gt, so your q6600 and 640MB 8800GTS should definitely better my system.
