If you can find one, FSP Hydro Ti Pro seem to be a chart topper.

Really appreciate you looking into this, but even if this is available somewhere it's way over my budget. Do you think I should go with the be quiet! or the super flower? I'm leaning towards the former - but I just don't know enough.

I don't know enough about PSU to give solid advise. I personally lean toward Seasonic but other members here have bad luck and poor support with them. I would check how long the warranty is and if they have a Canadian service center. Wouldn't want to ship a brick that heavy to Taiwan.

I haven't followed the whole thread, I will say I am a huge fan of Seasonic PSU's never had one problem and tend only to buy Seasonic for my family PC's, I never buy used PSUs cause I don't want the risk since they are a wear item.

Seasonic are one of the best brand you can buy, and even used I would trust them.

A psu tester would tell you if anything's wrong once you receive it.

PSU/voltage tester will tell you if it's working right and is safe to use Ie voltages in the right ranges, it can not tell you in what conditions it was used and how many hrs the caps have on them, IE if used in a hot environment the caps will have a shorter life, most caps are rated for 105c for 5000-12000 hrs. so it all depends if you're ok with that.

this is the main reason I don't buy used but with the cost of a new PSU, I can understand why people buy used, new is not cheap.

Rule number one in computing. Don't cheap out on the PSU. I've seen more that one PC get fried from bad PSUs.

My 850 EVGA psu lasted more than 10 years with no issues. Cost of ownership is a thing.
Agreed, and that's why I bought my 650W Seasonic platinum 5 or 6 years ago. I've decided to buy new, but will probably go with be quiet! or super flower.

Or if anyone can point me to a deal on an A tier 850-1000W PSU, I'd really appreciate it.

I *think* I found a winner
Super Flower Leadex V Platinum PRO 1000W $140
Not super quiet, and unclear about 18/20AWG PCI-E connectors
Tom's review

While the only PSU I've ever had die on me was a Super Flower(a LONG time ago), that seems like a decent deal.

I like Seasonic as well and found this on ebay, but not sure whether to grab it or not (it's A tier)

Yeah, I'm sure that unit is probably fine, but it's also used, and the price difference between that and the NEW Super Flower isn't that great, such that, if it was me, I'd be going for the SF, or the Be Quiet, if for no other reason, than you at least have a warranty. Having said that, Kevin's Used Computers is a local place, in Port Coquitlam, BC, and I've bought a few things from him over the years, plus I'm pretty sure he tests all the stuff he sells. Having read your recent post, it seems like you've made up your mind.... (y)
