Hey all, been waiting to upgrade some components for a little while now, finally got some money together. Looking for opinions on some upgrades to my pc. Budget around $500-600.

Some ideas I had were:
- Better Monitor (current 21" 1680x1050 acer)
- Watercooling
- SSD
- 2nd gtx460

If you guys could help out give me some ideas/suggestions that would be awesome. Cheers

EDIT: Added current monitor details

not sure what monitor you got now, maybe that.

for the rest, i wouldnt necessarily touch much..maybe an ssd.
and maybe just maybe another 460 if you find a killer deal.

I would personally go in this order:

1. Monitor
2. PSU
3. GPU/SSD
4. Case
5. Watercooling

SSD should be the first thing to get. 60 or 90GB Vertex2.
Wouldn't go over 1920x1080 resolution with 460 SLI, but it should give you max performance in Battlefield2 & Crysis2. buy the display and card at the same time. PSU 650W but I'm guessing you already have it.
Try Samsung BX2450?
Water cooling what?

it really depend on what you want, your list range from performance and look/cooling.

I think you will probably know better then most of us what is really lacking in your setup :)

Thanks guys, mostly looking for suggestions and what other people find for useful upgrades. I will think about it a bit and maybe find some good deals on some of these things. Thanks a lot !

In this order, I would buy a 80-90GB SSD (Corsair..skip the Vertex2 for now unless you know for sure you're not getting the 24nm chips), 2nd GTX 460, and then the monitor. I wouldn't bother with WC at all unless you're doing some serious OC..but then again, I don't know your needs. With just these 3 upgrades you're looking in the neighbourhood of $450-500 pre-tax.

I've only used Samsung and ASUS monitors over the years. No dead pixels or issues in either. Something to consider though is whether or not you will use dual monitors down the road... a matching pair might not be a bad idea. I personally prefer 21.5" matte screens as well.

Most notable day to day upgrade is going to be an SSD. As for other upgrades it depends what you do and what you want. If you feel the need for a bigger monitor then I would make that a 2nd priority. If you do gaming that you consider lacking on the single 460, then grab a second one. WC IMO would be a low priority. My vote goes for SSD and monitor. If adding another 460 I would prob change out the PSU as well.
