This is essentially a copy / paste of Gav's new BST Rules post so more people see it:

Hi Everyone,

Please make note of a recent change we have made to the BST area.

All new BST threads enter into moderation. Threads are usually approved/declined within 24hrs.

For full list of BST rules, please see the link below.

Don't think this going to bode well especially for people who have been around for a long time. To me this is basically saying "Sorry we don't trust our users". Especially since no explanation was given.

Members who already have had a BST thread before can just reuse them. :thumb:

u smrt.

I likey. :thumb: Like most of the long time members have said before, we tend to stay away from low post count people who we havnt seen around the site anyways. Too much room for scammers.

There has been a series of complaints since the plugin to reserve thread creation to those with 25 posts or more was disabled, including from the moderators since it created a lot more work for us.

Now, if you see a new BST thread, you KNOW a moderator has reviewed it for rules compliance, including pictures and the like. Because it will not be approved until it complies with ALL the rules, including proper photos and min. 25 post count. I checked all the new BST threads every time I logged in anyways, now me or the other moderators will be checking them before they go live.

So, no more creating threads saying "I'll post photos tonight" because they simply won't be approved.

No problems from my perspective. I would rather clamp down a bit than loosen up.

supa's suggestion is interesting...will mods be locking those until approved? Or will those threads just be locked after the sale, so new threads must be created?

As far as I know, there will be no change to how existing threads work. Members will be able to edit both the content and title. It'll be up to members to continue reporting edited buy/sell threads from long term members which don't meet the buy/sell rules.
