wonder how much better this would be if the IF Tech wasnt the same tech thats in Ryzen 1st gen.

This is positive news. I wonder how much of a real world difference it will make. Again I will say that this sounds like positive progress, but that the CPUs still needed another month or 2 of refinement before being released.

Sadly it was anandtech that had the best info on core to core latency, so I am not sure if anyone else with run with that torch to get equivalent results. Anandtech's previous findings on Zen5, which sparked the looking into core-to-core latency issues (between ccds was notably slower than zen4, which is the yellow/orange areas below):

isnt anandtech being shuttered? anyone know if they improved the infinity fabric tech since Zen 1?

yes anandtech is done done. As for what has changed/improved with infinity fabric over the gens, I am not sure. Honestly it works very well though, with a generally minor ccd to ccd penalty (except for zen5 on release, but that is supposedly corrected now.

I believe 1 large improvement was it wasn't supposed to be tied to memory speed in the same way anymore. Ie with the 5950x going much further above 3600 you loose the 1:1 ratio. I believe 7xxx and 9xxx was supposed to mostly resolve that.
