Release Highlights

  • Bug fixes.
--

Well played, AMD.

However... (although this is pretty standard):

Known Issues

  • After installing the AMD Chipset Installer version “7.xx.xx.xx”, users cannot install version “6.xx.xx.xx” or earlier.
    Workaround:
    • Un-install the latest version of the AMD Chipset installer (version 7.xx.xx.xx or later).
    • Delete the “Qt_Dependencies” folder located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD\Chipset_Software\".
    • Install any older version of the AMD Chipset installer (version 6.xx.xx.xx or earlier).
  • On a non-English OS, some driver names may appear in English.
  • Occasionally, Ryzen PPKG may not install or upgrade.

Just installed this last night. Seems to have resolved the last of my performance issues.

I've always thought chipset drivers downloaded as part of windows update. Is there a reason to get them via direct download instead?

I have always treated chipset the same as GPU drivers. Windows will give you something that works, but if you actually care about the latest features/updates(security)/functionality, you go direct the source.

I'm on 25.3.1 from feb 25. That said.... I've got "automatically keep amd software up to date" selected in "manage updates" but it didn't automatically install the latest chipset drivers. (It did indicate that they were available for download/installation).

I think the feb 25 adrenalin package might be the one that introduced the "manage updates" feature which brings chipset drivers back into the regular console (instead of having to dl them separately from the AMD site).
