New AMD Chipset driver v7.02.13.148

People check for drivers when things aren't broken?

I kid sort of. I certainly do not check every month, I bet last time I was looking was when I was attempting to get my wifi/bluetooth working in win10 (no luck at all). Otherwise I bet I check video every couple of months and chipset/other like 6 months or more as long as stuff working.
I check every month or so for my HTPC, gaming rig and the wife's PC, but all the rest in the house I do every 6 months to a year.

On an older platform I'd be inclined to just let windows update take care if any necessary driver updates, but with a new(er) chipset I like to stay on top of it.

Damn, I really should chekc my wifes, it has been well over a year. But then again anytime things aren't working she just tells me later and never when something is happening, so whatever it can wait.

HTPC, that one I don't do any updates at all if possible. Generally try to do a check on it say twice a year if that. The server, never unless absolutely needed, it is working and working 24/7, no need to touch it.

"If it ain't broke, dont touch it, you'll break it" lol. I used to do it that way, but I avoid problems just by keeping chipset and GPU drivers up to date, IMHO

Just checked and 7.02.13.148 is available via AMD directly. Officially released on the 25th.

Would also be my first choice of download over 3rd party.

AM4, AM5 & threadripper from the looks of the listed chipsets.
That station-drivers link I posted goes to the AMD driver release on the AMD site,I just thought that people may want to see what they were saying about the driver.

I know with station-drivers they do a good job of uploading official drivers and I have never had a problem with their drivers containing virus's or stuff like that.

I'm similar, except for GPU drivers. I update those as soon as Adrenaline prompts me there are new ones, but I only use release ones, don't bother with beta releases.

Chipset drivers and even BIOS I likely don't do enough. I still live in the ain't broke don't fix it mindset a bit for that stuff like gingerbee said. I might lose some small performance changes perhaps, but overall that practice hasn't negatively impacted me... that I know of anyway! lol

BIOS I should definitely do more regularly though. It just still freaks me out a little every time :)

I still feel uneasy too for whatever reason. I now force myself to hit start and then leave the room for 10 minutes so I don't stare at it wondering if its going ok

And thanks to this damn thread, I thought fine I'll update.

So I did, then thought might as well do the bios too, so did that. And of course that wiped all my settings and saved profiles as well. Then once finally back into my OS I had to reinstall that same chipset driver to actually get it working.

So yea I lost like an hour of my life all because of you folks!! I should be billing.
