New AMD Chipset driver v7.02.13.148

I noticed Gigabyte's X670E F33a BIOS has this note:

  1. Checksum : 7D4C
  2. Update AMD AGESA 1.2.0.3a PatchA. Please also update AMD Chipset Driver to 7.01.08.129 or later version to improve gaming performance for 2CCD Ryzen 7000 & 9000 CPUs
  3. Optimized memory compatibility

So it seems there's some correlation between AGESA and Chipset drivers?

And of course that wiped all my settings and saved profiles as well.
I save the BIOS settings to my USB first before flashing. Generally I've been able to reload them afterwards. Worked on my Gigabyte and ASUS boards at least.

has anyone else tested the F33 non beta bios ?
it came out a few days ago
1744171300348.webp

although this is for the x670e aorus pro x.

i was testing it myself and i was playing cyberpunk 2077 and for some reason i noticed a decrease in performance with the game but its minimal to the point im uncertain if its just a placebo feeling, so i decided to go back to F30.

The one i found to be the best so far for me is F30 ¿should i stay in F30 or just upgrade to F33? is there any reason for me to update to F33 ?

Looks like it's been out for a few weeks, but might be a good idea to give new bios versions a month or so just to be sure that there aren't any major issues with it.

As far as whether or not you should update?? That's entirely up to the end user, but there is a security component to this version.

thanks for the reply, i do agree i should test it further and see how it performs on my pc other than just testing it for a few hours.
this is a side question but ill ask it here anyways if thats not a problem:

i recently got a mini led monitor xiaomi g pro 27i and im wondering if i should update to win 11 for the HDR or just stay in win 10 pro?
the only reason why i havent updated to win 11 its because ive heard theres a lot of shenanigans that the OS has in comparison to win 10.

I really wish AMD would go back to folding chipset drivers into the same package as their gpu drivers.
I notice this is happening now, with the recent March gpu driver, or whichever was the first to support the 9070. It now installs an AMD Download Manager thing, that wants to update your chipset for you. the interface is different in the adrenalin control panel now, and the old person in me doesn't like change especially when it's software trying to take over and manage my PC for me. 😡

I think the automatic part is optional though? I did notice a little while ago that chipset drivers were starting to be offered as part of the standard driver download which is a positive thing IMO.

I personally think HDR is pretty beneficial, especially in a game like Cyberpunk. Adds a lot to the realism.
and i fully agree, thats why im wondering if its ideal to upgrade to windows 11 or stay on windows 10 for HDR related content.
idk if the windows 11 HDR OS configuration is better or the same as windows 10.
or ignore the windows system configuration entirely and just use the HDR that has the monitor on the OSD instead, sorry i hope i made sense.

If you aren't facing any issues with Win10 and HDR today, you're probably fine? I think the common complaint was things looking washed out and having no real way of "calibrating" Windows to match the monitor's limits. I never had a HDR monitor when I ran Win10 though.

I still feel the complaints people have with Win11 are mostly overblow, but to each their own. If doing an upgrade, I'm fairly certain you can roll it back if you don't like it.

Yeah, I've been running windows 11 on all my PCs for a few years now and really don't have any major complaints.
