Long time listener first time caller...

It's been a while but I'm looking to upgrade my gaming PC and to be honest, I've fallen way behind on technology and have spent a few days combing through whatever information I can find but I am still at a bit of a loss as far as the motherboard goes. (B450vsX470vsX570) I am going to be reusing parts of my current build (as noted below). As you can tell, I don't upgrade too often so keep that in mind.

Purpose: Gaming 100%
Budget: Noted next to components otherwise assume best value
Country: Canada
Brand Preference: None
Reusing Parts: Yes - as noted
Overclocking: Possibly but not necessary
When: Within 2 weeks
Resolution: 2K
Tech Requirements: Nothing specific - RGB is not a selling factor for me - If it has cool if it doesn't then that's fine too!

Current Build:

Gigabyte Z77X-UP7
Intel i7-3770K
4x4096 G.Skill TridentX DDR3-2400
Asus Dual GTX 1070 8GB
Cooler Master M2 1500w PSU
Phanteks Enthoo Luxe
Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD

Proposed Build:

Motherboard Unknown (HELP) - Budget Up to $250
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X - $269.99
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 (Unless other recommendations) - $119.99
Asus Dual GTX 1070 8GB (Reuse)
Cooler Master M2 1500w PSU (Reuse)
Phanteks Enthoo Luxe (Reuse)
Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD (Reuse or Replace with NVMe if it makes sense)

Thanks in advance!

A good B450 board would be plenty, unless you really want PCIe 4.0 and go X570 for futureproofing. I haven't looked much into that myself as I'm waiting for the 4000 series to upgrade. As for RAM, take a look at Crucial Ballistix LT. Micron's E-die stuff OC's pretty damn well and it's fairly cheap. The 3000MHz CL15 and 3200 CL16 are basically the same thing with a different XMP profile. Seems they go up to 3400-3600 with a tiny bit of voltage and effort.

Move the ram up to 3600mhz if you can (with the lowest timings at a reasonable cost).

I upgraded from i5 6600k. I got the ASUS TUFF gaming x570-plus wifi board. Love the board, Ryzen 3700x. 16 gigs DDR4 3600 mhz. Canada computers have the 3700x for $399 till Sunday I think.

I have 32gb of ram on both my HTPC and workstation and I cant see a difference between the 3600mhz/MT vs the 3000mhz/MT. just my2cents
I mean if you can get faster ram for the same price then do but I don't think its anywhere as important as gen1 zen

Thanks all for the input.

I think I'll pick up the TUF X570 but I'm ready to blow my brains out looking at memory :p

3600CL16 is fairly uncommon or just really expensive. Based on what I can see, the increases in performance from 3200vs.3600 is marginal.

Canada Computers website is shit for filtering. I do miss NCIX for this kind of stuff.

16GB vs 32GB for Gaming - Any reason to go big? Or is 16 still more than enough?

So far I think this is the best bang for the buck: https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232880 albeit a Hynix
