New Router Network issues

About the jan 01 date codes :

Most if not all router do not store time (no RTC battery) and sync with an internet server once it got an ip from the isp.

If the router reboot (or maybe after x amount of time without internet?), date / time will not be current.

Before posting any logs, just give a quick call to the isp.

Usually they are quick to spot a problem on their side, and if any, they will send a new modem or a tech to verify any outside equipment.

Anyway, that's the kind of answer I got with telus / cogeco in the past years.

Well it was the modem afterall having had a single issue once I upgraded to 500mb down 20mb up (pathetic) but so far no forgetting to give the router a IP address. Only current issue is I'm paying for 20mb down but only managing 15mb-16mb
