New unifi devices

Yes saw this today, some interesting products for "home" usage. The most interesting, to me at least, is the UCG Fiber. At least on paper, it has the same 5Gbps IPS/IDS as the UDM-Pro-Max along with a 10G Ethernet port and 4x 2.5G PoE+ ports.

The SFP+ port on the Dream Router 7 is a bit odd though, for what I would consider the most consumer device in the lineup. But I guess it's not a big deal to pop in a transceiver to make it into 10G Ethernet.

That unfortunately doesn't appear to be the case though.... going by the listing, it's a 4 port switch with a single POE+ switch. The Dream Router 7 is a similar single powered port design, but only lists PoE (not plus). Still going to need a secondary POE switch if you want to drive more than a single AP.

I guess the main benefit of these over previous models would be 10G WAN, and the 5G ID/IPS capacity.

I cannot find the video now but recently watched one that also leaked a bunch of new security devices. Glass break sensors and stuff of that nature not just the 1 or two sensors they have now but a whole line of them.

Ahh good catch, I saw 30W and figured it could be split across ports, but you're right only one port has the lightning bolt symbol.

Yes, that's "SuperLink"... yay for more protocols? Wish they had just used Thread/Matter/Zigbee/ZWave... something "standard".

Range and battery life.... the range on a lot of those is actually really short. Because of the range claims I'd almost be willing to put money on "SuperLink" being a wrapper around LoRa or something similar. It is one of the only standards that can make those kind of range claims. Most of those others are like 200m line of sight in BEST CASE scenarios.
