anyone else find a workaround for this or is this a sign of a gpu dying now? iv made sure in the control panel its set to normal not maximum Performance i turned off hardware scheduling in settings this fixed it did a restart then 2 days later it came back idling at 100% 75c with hardware scheduling still off.

so i turned it back on and guess what back to proper idling 5-10% do i have to keep turning this on and off every few days i dont get it did a clean DDU turned off the gpu in the 9950x3D i know google Fu said this was a bug but do they keep reintroducing this bug every other driver revision?

ill test again tomorrow as that will be Day 2 with it back on ill see if it again goes to 100% upon boot up and report back i could test with a 5070Ti do a clean/shutdown take out the 4090FE and see if it happens again in 1-2 days then i guess ill know for sure its the 4090FE Dying maybe?

Try " MSI Afterburner " maybe and " Intel PresentMon " maybe and " OCCT " maybe ?? :)

all good points i can test in morning i keep my rig pretty closed off vpn on boot no repack games from fitgirl, everything from trusted sources. but presentmon might be a good way to see if it is something soaking it up. no folding on this rig its on my rig in the garage. will do another sweep if it keeps up and maybe a complete clean install since i just swapped over the drive (nvme) to my new board wiped out the intel chipset drivers then installed new amd chipset drivers.

Addinprocess.exe was soaking 100% of the gpu was a coin miner had to use a few tools to stop it odd this pc hadnt been used until recently and it didnt have this prior to being shutdown until the 3rd x870e boared arrived for testing. since others were defective.

So a malware background miner, or did somebody purposefully install it?

It was all hiding in the roaming folder under user. Thing is this systems been down since I removed the 14900K rig from it then it was down while waiting on the x870e ROG board then that had to go back defective then had to wait for the x870e Creator board.

Once I was back up it didn't happen right away when I noticed it nothing new was installed other then AMD Chipset drivers then I noticed temps were outa whack and it was running 100% then I checked it said to disable the hardware Scheduler that worked for about 2 days then it came back wasn't until @lowfat suggested looking into task manager I didn't see anything until I added the GPU monitor to Task Scheduler and right there Addinprocess.exe was soaking the GPU until Malwarebytes was installed and found a bunch of things removed them restarted no more issue.

I was about to pull the GPU out repaste and repad it to see if I couldn't get it under control.
