Intel's refuted that and says 10nm is coming to desktop, although they haven't said when.
Intel just further muddied the waters by sending a note to Toms that there will be 10nm desktop processors, but didn't clarify what that meant exactly.https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-yes-there-will-be-10nm-desktop-cpus
Skimming the threads again, eh Friendly?

Intel is so screwed, karma is sweet.
I've hated them a nice they literally tried to bury AMD with a monopoly. Now they're scrambling. AMD has the consoles, a far far more intelligent design and are continuing to Innovate. Intel just keeps falling further behind. "Concentrating on Mobile" to me means they're running out of ideas. Yes, it's the biggest market right now, but AMD making better products for all markets is a far better strategy. Put another way: development for low power yet well-performing chips for Intel means survival, but for AMD it means even further improving all their lines, from the reg consumer matter All the way up to the extremes. Too little, too late for Intel - failure to innovate and sitting on their hands with overpriced yet barely different chips for years and years had finally bitten them on the ass.
