Have not watched the whole thing yet but seem to be getting a few things mentioning this but looks like the last manufacturer stopped making optical drives

I have a spare ASUS external a DVD writer/reader, but not blu-ray IIRC.

Haven't pulled it out of my 'box of PC cables and adapters' in at least 4-5 years. I'm almost tempted to grab a spare good blu-ray read/write drive to have, but if I'm basically moved entirely to digital, I'm not sure I'll ever have the use for it unless I got into 'retro' PSX-PS2-X360 gaming on a CRT and wanted a disc writer, and even with that, there's so many sd loader options, I doubt I'll burn a disc again.

I'm torn on that purpose as well, Dreamcast and Saturn have emulated disk drives but I do have a collection of physical disks I still want to have access to (eventually back up to iso)

But with only 1 Blu-ray burnern it fails I'm blocked

I rarery burn anything these days, as my backups are on hard drives.

All movies are streaming now, so I rarely buy any blurays.

However, I have a batch coming in september. When some old shows get licensed and I know I will watch them again, I do buy the blurays.

So I will have some ripping to do next month, I convert all our discs to mkv, it's easier to watch without searching the disc ;)
