if you look at his picture, the text in the lower right corner says it's a NUC 13 Pro.

Was thinkin' the same thing - it DOES sound as though there's an undisclosed problem with it. That, and saying, "box was opened but cpu never installed. Found the issue just before installing", makes it seem contradictory, i.e. was it installed, or not.
