NVIDIA's 3D Vision was one of the pioneering stereoscopic solutions and was introduced before the term "3D" became so mainstream. They're now releasing the second generation -dubbed 3D Vision 2- which combines new monitor technology with revised active shutter glasses. After a few days of using it, we have found plenty of things to like about it but there are a few minor areas in which it stumbles as well.

Even brighter panels...Sitting in front of a Acer HN274H is like looking at the sun even in ECO.
Would the new glasses be any benefit?

The beauty of this is it ONLY gets brighter when a stereo 3D application is detected. Otherwise, it sticks with your user-generated brightness setting.

I wonder how that Asus 27" stacks up against the Samsung 950 27". I couldn't wait for the Asus 3D to come out so I went for the Samsung but it isn't compatible with 3D Vision.

The Acer does that to but it's still bright in 2D mode even on lowest setting, at least I think so.

The Acer doesn't do that. LightBoost is only being included on new panels.

All I'm saying is the Acer HN274H goes to 100% brightness in 3D mode and then switches back to the user defined setting in 2D mode, I have one and that's what it does.
