Nvidia loses 600 billion in worth. Reportedly due to what's being called, 'trump crash'.

Ehhh, calling it a "Trump crash" is more reflective of having an axe to grind with him than the reality of the situation. I think he's horrific, but this isn't really on him (though I'm sure many future market issues will solely be due to him).

He's been in charge for less than a week and the Nvidia crash would have happened regardless of who won. Nvidia was (arguably) substantially overvalued and a Chinese competitor that can basically remove their high end hardware as a necessity for "A.I." (or really LLMs) would naturally cause the stock to dip.

It may bounce back quite a bit if deepseek turns out to use vastly more hardware than advertised, or if Microsoft's investigation into Deepseek plagiarizing OpenAI assets turns out to be true, etc. Likely not to the ridiculous high Nvidia was at, but only time will tell.

It already bounced back around 8% yesterday after Monday's big swing. Although it's down again today as people that don't follow it daily find out what happened. I sold my NVDA stock Monday but intend to buy some of it back after it settles down. They are still the 800 lb gorilla in the AI space.

How long did you hold NVDA for?

How long did you hold NVDA for?

Somewhere around 14 years? 2 splits ago. Bought for around $16 USD, then it did a 4:1 split and more recently a 10:1 split. I sold half my stock when it went through $100 USD and bought some Amazon with it as I recall, thinking there wasn't a lot of upside at the time (this was well before the AI boom, around 10 years ago). I've done well with what I bought with the profit from that sale, but not as good as if I'd kept it all in NVDA. It's all in my RRSP trading account so no tax implications for selling.
