It all seems promising...hopefully it holds true in reviews. I am excited for GPUs for the first time in a couple years. Can't wait to see these vs amd with all new cards.

Lol they can get away with that again if so ppl will not jump at the xx70 series gpus anymore unless it's universally known that's how they save money. Still under handed if true lol.

Impressive announcement! Looks like Pascal will be quite the leap forward, refreshing stuff when we compare this to the CPU side. I'm surprised with those clock speed, I'm guessing the 16nm FinFet process is the reason behind that, or at least one of the reasons. My only concern will be availability and CND pricing...

Honestly, that's still overkill considering the price and performance. Can't think of any game that would actually consume 7GB VRAM.

That isn't the only consideration. It would also imply less ROPs and effective memory bandwidth if configured like that and therefore a wider delta between 1070 and 1080 performance.

As it currently stands if 1070 does have the full bus and ROPs then it will actually have a higher bandwidth and ROP ratio relative to shaders then GTX 1080. This would mean rather good gains, relatively, via core clockspeed increases.

SKY you forgot to mention the Founders Edition GTX 1080 / GTX 1070 pricing. The question of actual availability date of custom partner cards was not even addressed by Nvidia.

Heyyo,

Super interesting and looking forward to benchmarks indeed... but anyone else notice that the SLI connector seems to use both SLI fingers on each card for these new high bandwidth bridges??? I think this means the death of tri-SLI and four card SLI... then again, the performance yields of tri-sli and quad-sli are quite poor compared to how much they cost so maybe that's the compromise Nvidia made?

EVGA has already Tweeted they are working towards custom cards available at launch. Supposedly partners already have these in hand.
