Oh didn't realize they made a new version for PCI-E 4.0. Then the usual rule applies, if it's not that much more expensive, like the SN850, buy the SN770.

EDIT: dang this thing is DRAM-less

For $5 more the adata S70 blade is a full fledged drive with DRAM. (And you get an extra 12GB... :) ).


The SN770 depends on HBM and I'm not sure your hardware supports it.

Just a heads up.... as discussed in the Rant thread.... the read speed on the smaller (512GB) drive in this series is half of what the larger drives offer (2500 vice 6800).

It's still not a bad drive, but since you're going to be working over gen 3 anyways you might want to save a few bucks and stick to a gen 3 drive.
