nvme which slot?

so this Asus Prime B550-plus amd motherboard has two NvMe slots I am not sure which slot to install the drive on or does it really matter?

The one closest to the cpu is the primary and does 4X4 while the other one only does 3X4. If you're only using one NVMe then you want the one closest to the cpu.
