Cyberpunk 2077 was the only game I've really been excited for coming soon, but this has huge potential for me. The Outer Worlds was fun, but didn't feel as deep as PoE or New Vegas. If they capture the 'you can do pretty much anything' feel of The Elder Scrolls but without the clunky creation engine or Bethesda's ho-hum writing, this could be an amazing game.

Details are sparse at the moment, but I'm certainly going to keep an eye out for news. With the financial backing of Microsoft this could mean Obsidian has the time and money to really flesh this out properly.

First, and most important question; What engine is it going to run? Because that will literally tell you how good or bad its going to be.

I hope its not just another Fallout skin-job 'remake' of PoE.

Was mentioning this to some people yesterday and today. Hoping it plays/flows like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (source engine) at the very least. The aethetic of fantasy/magic in FPS setting can be strangely fun (Strife, Heretic, Hexen, Dark Messiah)

Game is set to release on the 18th for anyone curious. It'll be on gamepass now that MS owns Obsidian.

I haven't been following the reveals or trailers too closely but will definitely be giving it a try.

I've watched a fair bit about it. Big change from the darker setting they showed way back in the first reveal trailer, but there is a decent amount of positive comments about playthrough previews. Definitely on my radar, even though I didn't play enough Pillars of Eternity.

Anyone wants a lore primer before playing, if you don't know Pillars of Eternity lore, this is a good one:

For anyone that enjoyed BG1/2 or Icewind Dale, Pillars is definitely worth a play. The party banter and character development is really up there along the lines of BG2/3 or Mass Effect and you have some legitimately unique party members. The world-building and plot is really interesting

I cheat pretty heavily in games like BG1/2 and Pillars as I'm more into the story than the 'Real time with pause' gameplay, but still really enjoyed my time with Pillars 1 (Pillars 2 I'm a bit more mixed on but mean to go back and give it a try).

Reviews are hitting the Tubes:

Haven't watched all of this one yet, 45+ min, but I generally find his reviews decent:

$89.99 on Steam. Those prices are starting to hurt and pushing me to wait for sales these days.

I'll check them out later.

Could always sign up for gamepass for a month and knock it or any other MS games out then cancel it. I think GP is like $15 CAD a month right now (and potentially cheaper with a key site, but I can't speak to best prices or which ones to trust right now )

The more I watch the videos about it, the more I can't decide on how I feel about the look of the game. It may look more appealing to me if I was actually playing it myself, but it looks somehow dated to me in a way.

Does anyone remember Vanguard: Saga of Heroes? I played a tonne of that, and that certainly looks even more dated, but the style in this one reminds me of that.
