I'm pretty sure the SLi ready kit uses Micron D9 IC's chips which are better for overclocking on 680i chipsets.

Hate to tell you but they both use Micron D9GHM chips. They even have the timings BUT the Nvidia kit operates at a higher voltage.

Personally, I would take the Plats due to their lower voltage.

I'd wait for another six months before going ddr3 so that the timings AND the prices go down- nowadays, you'd be forking out extra dough for less performance. And when you can get ddr2 pc-8000 for 140 bucks, it's not a bad time to jump.

I think it's going to be a little quicker transition than the jump to ddr2, but it's still a ways down the road yet.
