People will mine on USB flash drives not SSD/HDD, there is zero value gained using anything aside from a bootable USB drive. This is coming from someone who did a large scale project for a mining facility with major vendors. Flash do use NAND chips but I'm sure generation old chips are sufficent on the cheaper older models and would be consumed and are in mass availability in comparison to newer line tech.

Well I could very easily throw a bunch of my older drives into my current mining rig. I have a decent number sitting there. I don't know I think about 10-15 1tb-4tb drives and then another 10 ssd's that are 256gb or smaller.

I mean at least it would be cheaper than running the gpus. Not going to jump on this right away though that is for sure.

Is this something that could take off? Being 'green' hits the right note, that's for sure.
