I knew I made a mistake putting CF scores up there. Look at this card versus the GTX 280 and I can't see how you CAN'T be excited about this.
Because some of us are loyal fans to a certain brand.

I think its great ATI has put a card out that is this good and its been needed for sometime, but never will a AMD product exist in my machine.

I think we take up a collection, buy enaberif a 4870x2, give it to him, and tell him he can't use it unless he runs Vista.

On topic: Awesome review SKYMTL. Does the card appear as a single GPU to the OS, or do you have to have Crossfire enabled?

Good review, pretty much covered everything. Just one thing. In a review for a card of this epicness, wouldn't it make more sense to bench at 1680, 1920, and 2560? 1280x1024 seems kind of silly.

Not to insult your reviewing skills as I think HWC has the best reviews on the intrawebz.

However, now that I think about it; most of the past cards were probably not tested @ 1920 in the past, so you wouldn't have much to compare it against.

One last thing, when are you guys going to get GRID in? Not that I plan on playing it, just seems to be the new thing all the cool kids are talking about now.
YOu are right, we would have had to retest every card which is daunting when I have 1 week to do the review with mobo problems and a full-time job. Adding retesting to all of that would have killed me. Sorry. But, for the 1680 guys out there, you can think of it like this: if it runs well on 1600 x 1200 it should run slightly better at 1680. That is why I still have 1600 in there.

As for Grid, I am currently looking for something to replace UTIII which seems to me as a bit of a pointless benchmark at this point. So, it is probably in the cards.

No Crossfire enabled in the CCC. But 3DMark has a bit of an issue as picking it up as a HD3870. :haha:

I posted the memory chip in the review now. Hynix.

We wil be posting a review with CrossfireX review with Overclocking, mixed CF and everything else soon. I just want to get my processor overclocked somemore so I dont' repeat what everyone else seems to be doing: Crossfire reviews with a 3.0Ghz processor. Pfftttt. I want 4.3Ghz at least before I tackle it.
