Interesting little read, I had never even considered this as an option. I kind of wonder about the reception and range though with most PCs or cards only having 2-3 antenna while some of the newer 'high performance' routers range from 4-6 antenna.

But it's neat, and might be something to do with my Z97 board once Ryzen 4000 comes out.

You wouldn't have the PfSense machine handle wi-fi. It is just the gateway / firewall. You'd use your existing router or use an access point for wi-fi.
