pci-e lanes troubles

hi guys, i hope i'm posting in the correct section.
I have a MSI DKA790GX, it is advertised to have x8 speeds at crossfire
but according to cpuz and ccc it is only running at x4 + x8
on slot 1 i have 4870 and slot 2 i have 4850, i have tried disabling crossfire and it still reports x4 x8
any advice on how to fix this?

Does this motherboard have a jumper between the PCI-E slots to manually change their configuration?

nope, no jumper at all
i am currently using the newest bios for the mobo too.

Do you have anything in any of the PCIe 1x slots?

Is there by some chance a setting in the BIOS to make the Lanes Full speed?
I'm not familiar with an MSI Bios, but I know when I first put the RAM in my folding RIg, it had to be setup in BIOS to run full speed.

Just a thought at least.

new update:
it seems this problem only occurs with my 4870, with my 4850 lane is x16.
also with 4870 installed, the onboard video pops up in both cpuz and ccc. as i recall onboard video should've shut itself down when the motherboard detects pci-e display adapters.
i tried reinstalling the ati drivers but still no change.
what do you guys think? vista 64 being screwy and needing a reformat, or is it the bios of the mobo, or maybe the 4870 is a fud(although it plays really well, no stutter whatsoever).
