So, what I thought I'd do was, start up a thread for our random bits of photography. I'll go first :) Keep it to images you've taken yourself.

Not sure if I've posted this here before, but here's my first paranorma with my Canon Rebel XS (only had it a few days before going on this vacation last summer).

It's up around Kingston, ON. Namely the 1000 Islands area. Wasn't the best of days though, but I clicked away 39 pictures to make it.

Obviously click for full-size.

And I did a bunch of shots as well which I made into HDR after the fact since most of them were while on a boat tour of the 1000 Islands. It started to rain just before we left the docks and got pretty bad once we were out. Luckily the weather cleared up shortly into the tour. Some turned out pretty nice, others not so much...

the skateboard picture is not good......its a work of art. bravo.

also the house on the river, very nice.

Wow, I love the skateboard picture, what settings were used to take that picture.

Here are some of mine.

Starting to break into lightroom CS3 for retouching and whatnot, loving that.

Really like the lighting in the last photo sushi, good job.

Thanks!

that's why I use imageshack. and your pictures are good :) I wish I had a good camera. I only have my phone's camera :(

Flickr used to be easy to use... anyways I "sort" of found it out it only gives you a link+text though.

Thanks man!

Can't say off the top of my head... lemme check the exif.

ISO2000
1/250th
F/3.5
18mm on the kit lens

Key point was to get over 1/250 (1/500 would be nice) to avoid motion blur, use the widest aperture to get enough light (higher would have been sharper but not enough light), and a proper ISO to just hit 1/250 and still keep the noise acceptable. There was a lot of noise in the sky but nowhere else.

Exposed to the light above, to emphasize the contrast/get hard lighting. Also it was at the perfect "Blue hour" 1 hour before dark where the sky still has a tinge of dark blue.

Loving some of those skies! Lightroom is INFINITELY useful, speeds up my workflow so much.
