every time I see a cat around a PC I flash back to the 1990s just before the internet started my Best friend who stationed in was playing doom with a friend online ,we were drinking of course, and his buddy was totally owning him because my friend couldn't shoot for some reason I look down under his desk by his feet and his cat Mojo was attacking and chewing the mouse cord and I guess she chewed through one of the strains on the cord

Solitary Sandpiper - near Lake Erie. Yep, only the one bird. A new housing development had clear cut an area, scraped the dirt last year and started building some town houses. This one little area filled with water, cattails started growing, then aquatic insect life. Next year it will be a foundation for another row of town houses instead of the old growth forest that was there.

Edit: Solitary Sandpiper is the actual name of the species. Smaller than a robin and didn't mind me being close. My point was that nature didn't take long to start reclaiming the space.

I didn't get a job yet. I just paid for the airline ticket from my savings and relatives picked up the tab at the fancier restaurant. The 3rd picture is from Muji Cafe, yes the same Muji store in Vancouver and in Japan. It wasn't crazy expensive, closer to Wendy's burger combo meal in terms of pricing for some dishes there.

Plus I stayed at a relative's place so no hotel cost and eat in like 85% of the time. Bus and subway are cheap and I don't go out all that much while I was there. It was 35 to 38 degree C with high humidity so there are days when it felt like closer to 42 degree C.

The pictures only show the good looking part of Hong Kong. What the pictures can't show is the constant noise from construction, the dust from traffic, and the mild smell of trash and sewage under the hot sun. With both slow and fast rails going into mainland China, a lot of malls and restaurants are dying since it's a lot cheaper to just go north for the weekend. It's no longer a shopping paradise since most of the electronics are at price parity to Canada, basically the same in Japan as well. I only brought replacement clothing while I was there and that's it.

Bonus pictures.
