wouldn't it be more likely to be micron E die nowadays I know g.skill and t-force are still putting out B-die stuff but is there still that much of it laying around, I thought Samsung stopped making B-die almost 2 years ago, I thought e-die clocks just as good for cheaper?

JD did you just say your 5950x is falling behind rapidly in games umm I don't know what you consider rapid, but in most game benchmarks I have seen using a 3090ti/4090 its only 10-15% fps below the 13900k I wouldn't call that rapid lol but I guess this is also the downside to both AMD/Intel really pushing things forward on cores/clocks eh

Yeah, a 4090 is held back, might not be "significant" at the moment, but 10-15% is still "something". The 5800X3D keeps it more like 5%, that's where I was hoping the 5950X would be after 2yr, not 10-15% :( Feels silly to buy a $2k GPU and "lose" 10-15% out of the gate.

At 1080p tho. If you are playing at 4K then there will be almost no difference.

Samsung stopped using b-die in their own sticks 3 or so years ago. But they've still been selling it to other manufacturers. Definitely still used in many kits today.
Oh ok I thought any that would be made now would just be stock those ram companies would have had from a few years ago I didn't think Samsung was selling any of those chips anymore

Anyone thoughts on b-die vs micron E-die just wondering if anyone has experience with the latter chips, like I was saying have heard good things about those, hell I am not sure I might have some there's a few ram sets I haven't checked since purchase

Hey again curiosity here, in theory I have a new pair of RAM coming so I ask can the new pair run with one of my old working sticks along for the ride....does that work? My board has 4 slots of course. Thoughts? I would think not and am not inclined to do so, just curious:)

Single channel = slower. Personally I never run odd numbers of ram sticks.

RMA the bad stick? RAM usually has great warranty.
