What's people's experience with polishing acrylic like? More effort than it's worth?

The Barrow GPU block I have is pretty good, no obvious mill marks though the sides and fitting mounts are definitely that 'frosted' look. Debating if it's worth getting this thing to a glass like finish. Disassembly looks pretty easy, it's one o-ring for the card and only about a 10 screws to remove the fitting mounts and led strip.

I actually stumbled across that but noticed all the photobucket links are dead now
The instructions are the same. Lots of wet sanding from 800 to 2000 grit to remove all machining marks. Then polishing. Can use a drill attachment and automotive polishing pads where available. Meguirs PlastX is the polishing compound you want. First use a cutting foam pad then finish with a polishing pad. After all done, need to seal it areas not touching water with an UV protectant. I used Car Pro CQuartz but any automotive sealant should be fine.

Even after nearly 10 years my polished DDC looks like glass.

Where do you usually get CQuartz from? It is on amazon, but looks a little pricey there.

I'm assuming as long as I stick with any decent ceramic exterior coating they should be fairly similar?

It is very pricey stuff. Probably any cheaper stuff with good reviews will be fine. I've been out of the detailing hobby for awhile so I'm not sure about what is our there now.

Auto Obsessed in South Edmonton carries a lot of different automotive polishes and stuff. Some of them will be equivalent to what you need.
