Post Your Pets

Two weeks ago we sadly lost one of our family pets, kita was a rescue and she was awesome! Getting real painful dealing with the loss older I get. She was family for over 5 years and had a tough life before my wife brought her home!
But I'm here to post a photo of Moloka, a more recent rescue from last July.
My wife is looking to set Moloka up with a new friend. FYI, Moloka is the coolest cat I've ever had the pleasure of hanging with!
Pop quiz, Moloka's name is a movie reference of sorts.....anyone? No looking...View attachment 43245
very pretty cat! :D

Sorry to read of this loss ☹️..... on the good side, at least you gave her 5 better yrs. than what she'd previously had, and she didn't have to endure a tough life for the duration, so kudos for that! 👍

Echoing Cannon Fodder's condelences. I couldn't decide which emoji to put on your post; the sad for the loss, or the happy for the new rescue. Went with the happy one :) Hard to lose our fur family members.

As others have said, Moloka is lovely! I know Molokai is a Hawaiian island, but I got nothing for you for Moloka as the movie reference. Do tell!

Thanks gents!
Yeah, most Hawaiian now that you mention it but nope.
Kind of a reference to Kubrick's movie A Clockwork Orange. Moloko Vellocet is a drug spiked milk drink the Droogs drink to sharpen themselves up! Perhaps like a cat all hyped up ready for mischief and the ultaviolence?
Moloka is Orange and White and Clockwork is Fav movie of ours...that's it.
A very good thread this to keep alive and I look forward to more posts/pics😁
Cheers

For those with cats, anyone find any good toys without plastic? One cat loves the springs, but the other chews them. Same cat chews and destroys the fishing toys.

I bought some silvervine 'toys'. They love the silvervine but as toys they seem too large. Not sure what else to try, where I don't need to worry about the cat needing emergency surgery to remove plastic from his stomach.

@lowfat Siamese are very particular, but Sherlock likes things he can wrestle, with all four paws. Examples would be a catnip "cigar" (8" long cotton "tube") and his other wrestling toy, which looks like the little arms of a microfiber duster on another log-like toy. The latter has some sort of plastic on the inside, and makes plastic-y noises, but no plastic can actually be bitten, AFAIK.

Our cat loves these. Of all the toys we've bought her these remain the favourite and she brings them to us to play fetch as well as playing with them on her own. These have some kind of a rattle inside but she's never really tried to get to it. She does sometimes pull the ears and tail off. These also don't contain any catnip, which is our preference.
