I am looking for a new PSU, my current one is fine but has about 4 years of regular use.

I have been reading reviews of all kinds, some really nice PSU information on Hardware Secrets, and lastly would like some referrals from the HWC community.

I have a i7 930, 2x GTX 560 Ti OCs, 3x 2GB DDR3 1600, 2x 500 WD Black and quite a fans, USB devices and so on.

I was using a Tagan BZ-700W, a beautiful beast that has served me well. I would buy an 800W Tagan if I could find one retail.

I was thinking about a 750W - 850W Corsair, Seasonic or Silverstone. Must be modular.

Go with the Corsair AX series. 750W is plenty overhead for your system.

Currently enjoying my Seasonic X-750, runs very quiet and cool.
Fully modular of course, Would really recommend.

any seasonic made should serve you well.

now, i understand your unit has 4 years under its belt, but do you experience problems with it?

if you have doubts, get a kill a watt or one of those blue planet thingies and see whats pulling

at the wall. anything funny? ok, go for a new one.

Thanks guys. I did pick up the blue planet thing and everything's all good. I just get paranoid with PSU's after a few years, even though I blow out my rig every month lol.

I'm thinking the Strider , Corsair Professional, or a Seasonic M12D.

Would you rather have a silver rated 850W or Gold rated 750W? Or does it that big o deal?

silver 850.

whats it saying when you run prime+loop 3dmark? those are the numbers to look out for.
as fas as normal usage it will be hard to match the aforementioned combo :)

My vote goes to the Silverstone Strider 850 Plus 850W for extra 100W for about the same amount of money. :bananafunky:

Reading the stats: 115V, 0.20 KWH and 2A idle, loading leads to 117V, 0.40 KWH and 6A. Does that sound right? I have no clue.
