I have no idea what this "Push/Pull" thing is, so I thought I would leave my question here. I noticed the reference sometimes when someone is talking about a particular PC build. But I have found the term hard to google. What is it and are there any decent resources that goes into detail about what it actually is or how to take advantage of it?

Cheers

When a woman is pregnant.

She will push to get the baby out.

While she is pushing sometimes the doctor will pull.

Oh .. computer?

Its a fan configuration.

On a heatsink that can handle 2 fans, one fan will 'pull' air into the heatsink and the other (opposite side) will push the air out. So... Kinda like having 1 fan, with another to assist the airflow.

Push >>>> Heatsink >>>> Pull .... This usually generates lower temperatures for your CPU, as opposed to just a pull or push configuration... :)
