That is the odd thing and why I have no idea what it is doing lol.

Yes the drive is only 512M with the rest of the space going as cache. Which is bizarre.

The other odd thing is the cache is going up but it doesn't ever seem to be touching the 512MB pool. Maybe they modified how ZFS works in some way.

Code:
                                                    capacity operations bandwidth

I was doing a CDM test to my slow pool "zpool1" which is just a pair of 6TB spinners currently. and it was writing to the cache portion only and the allocated value is increasing so it is "caching".

At least until it ends up in ARC (ram) and stops reading from there -- at which point I max out 10G.

So it behaves properly its just not setup in any that should be possible in ZFS

So it's somehow caching to a totally different pool... which I guess it means they're doing something else to shuffle the data around and not relying on ZFS to do it natively?

Yeah they must have some kind of tiering setup but I am not sure what to look for. People have wanted this for ages in ZFS lol.

I wish ZFS had a tiered setup. As I don't use NFS, an SLOG was always useless to me. And when I tried an L2 ARC it was equally useless.

I’ve been looking at this model, where did you buy it from? Seems to be tough to find at the moment
I had placed a backorder with PC-Canada, but it came in pretty quickly. Ordered Feb 15, shipped Mar 9. Looks like the price has dropped a bit now too as mine was $1393.

Mine came direct from QNAP in the states so depending on stock the turn around may be even faster.
