Question about connector on ASUS X870E ProArt mobo

I'm pretty sure that ASUS has done their homework on that but then again in todays day and age who knows.

I have a question for you,I have never been an AMD fanboy and also never had nothing against them just never wanted to run one until the last year or so.

The question I have is what is if you look at the picture below what are the 2 black plastic thing's I circled in red for,if they aren't used with any CPU cooler and you just end up throwing them away all the time why does AMD make all their partners include them just to waste plastic.

I'm embarrassed to say I don't recall what I did with those when I built my 5900X system lol

But I installed a Noctua cooler on mine. I believe they are used if your AMD CPU is using one of their stock coolers. The Wraiths or whatever.

Correct me if I'm wrong there anyone.

There's aftermarket coolers that still use the standard brackets. It's only the more "high end" models that don't. This also holds on the backplate, which a lot of coolers will leverage, so you might remove the front plastic brackets, but re-use the metal backplate.

I was thinking the same thing that you guys were thinking and pretty certain that your supposed to use them with a CPU cooler, but because I have never done AMD build other then one and that was way back when the Intel 2.8D Dual Core was the hot ticket I couldn't even tell you if the AMD 6 core from that area I built for a friend had those close on the mobo.
