What do you think of this card?

Newegg.com - XFX R7-260X-ZNJ4 Core Edition Radeon R7 260X 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

It's from the US newegg page because my brother is buying it for me with a gift card he has and then sending it up.

Anyway, XFX R7-260X. I like it because it is short and will fit in my Node 605. It only has to run a 1080P TV, so not that much power is needed.

Any thoughts? Different recommendations?

Why would you go so crazy for? If this is not a gaming PC does your motherboard not have HDMI out?

Yes, however I'm finding a bunch of problems, probably driver related, which I won't go into detail here.

Anyway, I would like to play some games on my HTPC with my Xbox controller, so I'd like a video card to run them.

The XFX core heat sink is kind of noisy if you are using it for a HTPC. They don't seem bad just noisy for the amount of cooling they have. the 260 will be fine for most games at 1080. I have been happy with the asus cards and their new heatsinks, MSI heatsinks have been garbage. I have heard good things about sapphire hardware but I personally dont know what their warranty is like for Canada so I have not touched them.

Hmm, well it would only be noisy when in game, right? The rest of the time (idle) I'm assuming it would be almost inaudible...

I haven't kept up on the AMD cards, but if you're worried about noise it might be worth taking a look if there's a Vapor-X sapphire card in that series. I had a 4890 and a 5870 with the Vapor-X coolers and they were remarkably quiet. I'm not sure if they're as big a jump in noise reduction as they used to be now with all the custom MSI Frozr and Gigabyte cards, but it might be worth nosing into.
