My Best Buy rant......buggers:
Here is great example of absolutely crappy n the worst Customer Service I have ever experienced!!! ..So...I am sitting on my Coast Guard ship out at the CG Base near Victoria Airport over the holidays ...looking to replace my 10 yr old Mac Book Pro. ....jump on Best Buy.ca to see if any sales (29th Dec)...hey...Mac Book Pro 14" w M1 Pro CPU 16G / 512G on sale for $2199....great price, I think I'll purchase and to make it even better, I can purchase then jump in my truck, drive to Uptown Best Buy (Victoria) and pick it up, as pick up vs delivery is an option...great...take it with me on the ship when we sail.. before the ship sails on the 2nd Jan...(by the way our Mission for the next 28 days at sea is SAR (( Search and Rescue Posture))..so order online and select "Pick up at the store"....use my Credit Card (Westjet RBC).....purchase goes thru fine...get a notification via email "Congratulations I will recieve an email to pick up shortly (Oh I also made sure it was "In Stock" which was stated as being In Stock on the Best Buy Site at Victoria Uptown Store).
...awesome....jump in my bunk thinking I'll be able to go n pick it up the next day.......the next morning, I awake to another email from Best buy stating "We are sorry, your Order was cancelled due to no stock, please re-order online and select delivery to your home or re-order and select another store that has stock"....hhhhmmmm...odd....the site stated it was in stock, its why I ordered to begin with.....
Anyhow, it kind of bugged me, so had another look online (30th Dec) and of course the Mac Book Pro I wanted was no longer available at the "Sale Price of $2199, but was back to the regular price of $2499..and still showed "In Stock"..huh...oh well....I'm going to jump in my truck and drive the 30 min to Uptown Best Buy and see if indeed there was no stock or there truly was stock...thinking if there was stock likely just an honest error and they would make it right........
Well, I go in and speak to a salesman.(nice guy)...explain what had happened and even show him the email I received (on my phone) from Best Buy indicating my purchase at the sale price of $2199.....I also show him the email I received from Best Buy showing that my order had been cancelled due to "no stock".....he thought that was really odd as they had plenty of stock....so he got the Manager....he wouldn't even look at my emails on my phone....told me that the Authorization of my Credit Card was likely in a queue and it came up to late in the queue ........this was an absolute fvckin bullshit....the email I received initially had said thanks for your order we will advise when your package is ready for pick up...
.(obviously no issues at all with my Credit Card)..SO....I told the manager that its kind of "shady" that I purchased online for pick up at the store and then be notified that my order is cancelled due to "No Stock" yet they have a ton of stock and now want me to purchase at full price!!!!!!
They offered $100 bucks off, but would not sell it to me at the original sale price of $2199.......I said NO (out of principle), if you wont honor the sale price I had purchased thru my Credit Card and as indicated in my "Congratulations thanks for your purchase email" forget it and left the store....whatever, crappy service...
Will never go to Best Buy again, will stick to Memory Express, Newegg, Amazon and/or Canada Computers for all my Electronic purchases going forward........
btw...TODAY, I receive another email from Best Buy stating my Order was cancelled due to a problem Authorizing my Credit Card.....so Best Buy...what was the problem when I purchased w my Credit Card initially while the Mac Book was on sale...."No Stock" (as in the first email) or "A problem with my credit Card" (as stated in the second email a day later after my visit to your store).......??????
Why wouldn't they honor the sale price when they indeed had stock and I could prove thru the emails on my phone that I had made the purchase?
BTW...I know for a fact there is absolutely nothing wrong with my Credit Card.....so more bs..(just purchased a bunch of accessories from Telescopes Canada same Card online no issues.....honestly, is that how they treat customers?????
Well, they lost one, forever....I'll gladly purchase my next Mac Book Pro for a few hundred dollars more (if need be) from either Apple.ca, Amazon.ca or Costco no doubt!!!
Those guys need to get lessons in how to treat customers, obviously they dont give a @#$%&, as they allowed me to walk out the door knowing I had a legitimate claim........Happy fvckin Holidays.....still have all 3 emails on my phone and purchase information available under My Account when logged into Best Buy.ca.......still shows my purchase at the sale price.....
My Credit Card never did get past "pending"......whatever....then they wonder why they cant survive and get gobbled up by the major players....end of rant...I feel better .......btw Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to everyone here @ HWC's !!
