Rants etc.....

Thought I was going to have to cut a hole in my basement ceiling this morning to get the damn cat out. There is a hole by the breaker box where all the cables go up. One of the idiots somehow got up there. But thankfully shaking the treat bag got him out.

They tend to look for secluded safe hiding places, and that sounds like a good one. You previously said they like to stick together, so that may have brought him out if the other guy didn't join him.

I totally get the grown up kitten because we have one and he can be a pain, especially with the kneading.

My exercise bike bit the bullet today. :(

Trying to find a spin bike that has some kind of functionality without requiring a subscription is a major PITA! There's no freaking way I'm paying $30+ a month just to get basic functionality (I have no interest in having a 20something gym rat yell at me for a workout.... I had my fill of that while in the military :) .

Guess it's time to pull out the mountain bike for the season and see what comes up on sale in the fall.

"Come on Peloton"....What? You wouldn't rather bike around Moncton and deal with all the distracted drivers?...

Head on a swivel. Be safe out there.(y):)

Does any company even make oldschool analog exercise bikes anymore? It seems like everything has to have a display and electronic controls these days, it is disappointing.

*Edit
Actually, it looks like they are available! And reasonably priced too.

Pretty much any spin bike will function as a standard "analog" with a manual resistance dial/knob. As far as the electronics/controls go... I'm not a fan of "connected" exercise bikes, but I do like having programs which adjust resistance to simulate changing road/incline conditions.

I just got rid of an old (I suspect sears brand) analog one. Doesn't get much more basic than a single wheel chain drive w/ an adjustable roller for tension. (Even had the old school mechanical speedo... :) ).

Multiple wildfires in the Halifax region, luckily nothing near/close to me but it's not great out there at the same time. This is from around 2 hours ago:

Fingers crossed this gets under control. I saw it all in the distance today driving by the HRM on the highway.

It sounds like the one where I was seeing smoke from was, but the larger one out in the Tantallon area is still an ongoing battle, including battles to try to save houses.
