It's been hot here without a lot of rain so the lawn hasn't needed to be mowed for a couple of weeks... they threw down the fertilizer mid week and I noticed yesterday that it was getting close to time for me to go shopping for a scythe and/or machete.

Turns out the 'hatch' to my attic is baseboard trim attached to ~1x2 MDF strips. The strips are attached to the trim with 1 -1/4 brad nails, but not to the chipboard of the hatch body at all. Nope, they only thing holding it and the door/seal/insulation was 6 brad nails on each side through the baseboard trim into the ceiling drywall.

Fuckin' Alberta builders. Going to build a new hatch tomorrow with better materials and have it you know, go into the osb hatch body and might even, gasp, put some real lumber behind it to screw into....

Jumped through hoops for Commissionaires and its been a few weeks haven't heard anything the last thing was security clearance about a 2 weeks ago received a call from another company doing mobile security paying less which is overnight plus it is a company I haven't heard of before so not sure if they are actually any good or not, tried emailing commissionaires recruiter a couple of times over the last week no reply which makes me wonder about a charge I have over 24 years ago is the issue in either case I would think they would contact me
