Heh.... well that was a weird one (not to mention bone headed :) ).

While setting up my new U7 Pro I accidentally connected it to the 1G PoE injector I was using rather than the 2.5G PoE switch I was using for the AP it was replacing.

The 1G injector seems to have been passing the 2.5G without any issues.

Well..... learn something new every day. :)

I always assumed that PoE injectors were some form of Nics, but apparently they're essentially ethernet couplers which add PoE power to the appropriate pins.

Just like cat 4/5/6 cables the ability to pass 2.5g is more about the quality of wiring/pins than it is about the listed rating.

I've spent the last 6 weeks fixing my basement and was looking forward to having my man cave back. I just don't have the desire to take the TV apart right now. Maybe on the weekend. Hopefully I will be able to find the part numbers and be able to find a board that way if there's no obvious swelling capacitor. Because it's a -CA Canadian model, I'm not too hopeful.

If I can't track it down in an hour, I'll buy whatever I can off Amazon with a monthly payment plan. I just want to be able to watch my stuff in peace.

So I got the cover off easily and part ordered for the main board. TV still turns on and off so I'm assuming it's not the power supply board. If that doesn't fix it, I'll recycle the damn thing and get another TV. Gotta wait for it to come from the US, so hurry up and wait.

Someone selling an amplifier for $200 in Edmonton. Have a coworker there that can pick up for me. Message seller asking if they'll take $175. "You can have it for $180 cash". They want to meet in front of RCMP, sure. So get coworker to message them for a time. They seem friendly enough on arrival. But they are saying it is $200 cash. Coworker tells them he was told seller agreed to $180. Then they start freaking out. Telling coworker I lied and they didn't agree to anything. Coworker goes back to his vehicle to 'get the money' and he calls me. I send him the screenshot were they agreed to $180. So coworker shows seller the screenshot. "That isn't the same amplfier. I've already sold that one. " Still freaking out. Coworker tell them to eff themselves and probably a bunch of other stuff then leaves. Um what, TBH glad it went sideways as he wouldn't have had any idea if it was a different amplifier than the one I wanted.

That's bullshit!

Sadly this is the behaviour of some folks today, they want to scam someone and when they get called out for it they freak out, not really someone you ever want to deal with.
