Rants etc.....

Well, got my support answer from ASUS which was "not on the AVL so can't help". Guess I'll stop at Memex on the way home and get some ram for testing.

Pretty lousy response, not even a "we can't support, but would recommend trying X". I know Asus' support has had a reputation for declining over the last 5-10 years so I'm not shocked.
Got some ram that was on the AVL and..... performed worse than the Corsair RAM. Going to test one more kit and reach out to asus support (the timings in the kit didn't actually match the AVL and didn't help). Hoping they'll give me some support with the other AVL kit, I'm starting to suspect the memory controller isn't working right, either a power delivery issue or something.

that will be one of the big reasons Hisense are so affordable.
ya I ended up orderring two things first I ordered a Samsung 55"4k s90D tv I wanted to get the newer one but its like twicwes as much , then today I though I wonder if my Hisense tcon board is shot so I watched a few youtube videos to see the symptoms , ended up ordering one of those which show be here logn before the samsung arrives that is pretty easy to replace also since I havent been working because i am commissionaire reserves for base security ( I like it that way) keeps me a little busy .
if it fixes it I will still use the Samsung and put the hisense in the samsung box store it in my closet along with the current old RCA tv I am using lol
but man those tvs are pricey 1700 for that tv the new 95D is if I remember right 3300, if I had the money I would have bought that and I do have the money but I think the extra 1700 could be better used elsewhere .

okok to be honest I think what actually stopped me from buying the Samsung 95d was because It wouldnt fit where I would have it its 65" and I doubt that it would have fit ontop of the old dresser I am using as a tv stand and tool\ junkdraws thing. t hats one of the huge benifits of being single wouldnt get nagged at for buying what I want I can be the grown up child man once in a while spending money lol the nicest things I own are my old Lexus is350 my Computers lol

So I will have to call Bell back after June 1st because they put my internet up again, another 6 bucks, magically the no-term cost for my plan is still $140, but somehow I get to pay $151.

I called them today and the person told me to call back in june when he says they have a bunch of sales on, so will see how that goes, I am not looking for a deal I just want to pay what the plan cost.

I hate these games they play.

Why not switch to one of Bell's various sub-brands? Or is there something that you do that 1Gbps isn't enough for?

Could I get away with something a little lower, maybe, but it would limit the things we do? The upload helps us a lot. The only option I have for fibre other than Bell is Teksavvy, which offers 1.5 GBPS down 940 Mbps up, through Bell's Line. Rogers is not reliable in my area no clue why but every neighbor I have complains how much there internet is down and there upload is crap. My only problem with bell is the random small increases which I think they do just to try and screw people who don't pay attention to the bills much.

My main reason for wanting to stay with bell, I asked teksavvy if there internet would stay up as long as I can power the router if my city/area has no power, cant say, which makes no sense to me since its bells gear and that works fine in power outage.

All I want is for them to charge me what the plan cost, $140, not $151 for no reason. we will see come june what we have to do.

Nah, I meant the likes of Distributel, Primus, EBox, etc. All Bell-owned and should be 1G/1G symmetrical. TekSavvy is far too expensive to make any sense.

But yeah, if you are pushing the full 3Gbps up/down constantly, I understand. I didn't find 3Gbps to change my life drastically to warrant paying double the price.

I am not pushing it constantly, but when I need it, those speeds save me a boatload of time. I could go back to 1.5GB with 940 up, but even that slows me down when I need it. Yes, I am paying for the time it saves me. If I could pay the price I am for the 8GB/down 8GB up, I would be okay with the price, but the 8GB plan is not available in my city.

I am just pissed that this is not a plan price increase its a "I am special tax from bell, BS" which I don't think they should be allowed to do but I don't make the rules. I think about it this way, 2 people go into Walmart to purchase an item, yet the first guy gets to pay less than the second, it's a scam IMHO.

but I will talk to bell and see what happens, I remember switching to the 3GB plan thinking it wouldn't make a big difference I only did it cause it was the same price I was paying for the 1.5gb plan, lets say I notice and I am will to pay for that, just not random price increases that only happen to me and the select few.

Note to self.... if there's been a unifi network OS update recently, start looking there if something on your network just randomly stops getting connection authentication.

Spent half an hour chasing down API settings when all it needed from me was to notice it was being blocked and set it to approve.

Couple days ago my eBay parcel was delivered by Dragonfly. And I just got an email that my recent Aliexpress order is also being delivered by Dragonfly. Sure seems like Canada Post doesn't have a whole lot of parcel deliveries these days.
